dmi3yy pushed a release candidate of MODX Evolution 1.1 to GitHub last week, just in time for the new year. MODX Evolution is continued to be maintained by a group of community contributors. Among other things, this release uses mysqli by default, boasts PHP 7 support and introduces 10 new plugin events. The release is not yet available from MODX.com, but you can find a download on GitHub.
