dmi3yy pushed a release candidate of MODX Evolution 1.1 to GitHub last week, just in time for the new year. MODX Evolution is continued to be maintained by a group of community contributors. Among other things, this release uses mysqli by default, boasts PHP 7 support and introduces 10 new plugin events. The release is not yet available from MODX.com, but you can find a download on GitHub.

A few weeks ago MODX Revolution 2.5.2 was released, fixing a critical security vulnerability. As not everyone is able of instantly updating their sites, Johan van der Molen at Sterc prepared patches for older MODX versions, as far back as 2.3.3. These are now available to the community to help secure their websites.
